Indian Gooseberry are tiny, spherical berries with pale green skin. The Amla appears to be segmented due to the skin’s nearly translucent appearance and six to eight light yellow striations. The meat is crisp and juicy with a sour and bitter flavour, and the skin is tough yet thin. Amla fruit flesh has a mild astringent flavour as well.
